We are delighted to announce that CrickmoreVets is becoming part of Arvonia Vets.

For those of you who don’t know, Stephen and Sally started CrickmoreVets nearly 30 years ago in a basement on St George’s Road. What began as a modest practice with a few clients has grown into something we could have only dreamed of, a thriving family business based here at Albion Lodge that is a vital part of this community. Our journey has been a labour of love, and it’s been possible thanks to all of you.

Over the decades, CrickmoreVets has become part of the local community. Many of you have been with us for a long time, and we’ve had the privilege of working with a dedicated team of staff who care deeply about the work we do.

Now, the time has come for Stephen and Sally to take the next step. After much thought and consideration, we have made the decision to sell CrickmoreVets to our friends at Arvonia that share the same values that we have always upheld. Sally will help integrate the sites and will hand over her work as Practice Manager in a couple of months time. Stephen will still be available to see clients but will reduce his hours with the support and advantages of being part of Arvonia vets moving forward.

We are thrilled that Arvonia, one of the only other veterinary practices that shares our commitment toclient care and prioritising the well-being of your pets, will be taking over CrickmoreVets. They have built their reputation on doing what’s best for animals and clients, just as we have done.

Things will carry on much the same way, with the same friendly faces on reception and nursing, it's very much 'business as usual'. This arrangement will carry on into the future so that Stephen will continue to be available to see clients as part of the bigger team.

About Arvonia Vets

Like CrickmoreVets, Arvonia Vets is a well established independent practice set up in 1980. It has two sites in The Reddings Cheltenham and Churchdown. Arvonia is run by experienced vets, Richard and Darran. The practice also has 4 other vets, Miriam, Emma, Jake and Annabel. Arvonia brings access to a wider team of caring vets and extensive facilities and equipment. Clients of CrickmoreVets will be able to use any of the Arvonia sites with all medical records linked across the group. Furthermore Arvonia offers all day Saturday consulting every weekend for both Arvonia and Crickmore clients at no extra cost.

Together with CrickmoreVets, Arvonia will achieve a bright future as a leading independent practice in the area.

Questions and Answers

Will I still be able to see Stephen?

Yes Stephen will remain available at the practice and gradually over the next year reduce his schedule.

Who will be working when Stephen has his days off?

Experienced and approachable vet, Richard (who is alot like Stephen), will work most of the days along with Annabel and Miriam on occasional days.

Will fees change?

Over the next year we will slowly synchronise the fees between the two practices, some things might go up and some things down, but not to a large degree. Arvonia fees are well below corporate type fees charged by many practices in Cheltenham so rest assured good value and service will continue to be provided for you.

Will out of hours provision change?

Arvonia use Wood Vet Group for out of hours cover and you will have access to them if needed when we are closed. Wood Vet Group is a very large 24hr hospital, their fees are generally lower than Chelvets (who have now become part of Vets Now).

Will the opening times stay the same?

Yes, there are no plans to make any changes to opening times, with morning and evening consulting hours and operations taking place during the afternoon.

What are the advantages to being part of the Arvonia practice?

There will be a number of key benefits that being part of Arvonia will bring to our clients.

Firstly, Arvonia have made significant investments into advanced treatment and diagnois procedures and equipment, meaning that there will be significantly fewer referrals to expensive specialist practices for your pets when they are most in need. Additionally, with multiple sites around Cheltenham, you will be able to seamlessly visit the other sites with ease, as medical records are shared across sites, giving you more convenience for when your pet needs to see a vet.

Who can I speak to if I have questions or problems?

Like previously, Stephen and the other vets will be your first port of call of any questions that you may have. Our existing team will also be welcoming Karen and Kirsty who will also be able to help (01242 700100)
